Question of The Day: Senator...what is your opinion on SOPA and PIPA? WV wants to know. Are you for censorship of the Internet which will further prove that you are as backward thinking and short sighted on these bills as you are with what is good for the economy of WV? Or are you going to use this opportunity to redeem some of your past behavior and decisions and show that you actually the understand the the ramifications that these bills will have on entrepreneurs who are actually contributing to the economy?

And for all of you out there who look at this and try to justify it by saying that coal is the wealth of WV.....think again. The coal is owned by out of state and out of country entities. All WV is getting is a few jobs (which are decreasing), wrecked mountains..and hourly wages for a few people. Alot of the companies aren't even unionized...(ex. Massey) and Manchin supports this. Does he really have the best interest of WV at heart? Or is his main concern his political career and a few miners? What about the rest of the state?
We all know that coal keeps communities down by forcing out other industry and jobs so that communities are forced to rely on coal. Then these communities start feeling like they need coal. It's like Stockholm Syndrome (people start to sympathize and identify with their kidnappers).
Wake up WV...you have been fed a line of BULL for decades and you are still buying it!!!!!! If coal is so wealthy? Can any of you brainwashed people explain to the rest of us WHY WV IS ONE OF THE POORERST AND MOST UNEDUCATED STATES?????

It will be nice 20 years from now..how you can tell your children and grandchildren how you helped ruin the state and THAT is why they are so poor now...also..tell them how you didn't have the foresight OR the clear thinking to be able to actually see through the smokescreen of bull. Then tell them that you didn't encourage them to go to college because you were told there would always be mining jobs. Way to go.
