"Our state Clean Water Revolving Fund, which finances public water and sewer projects, is ranked among the top in the nation. Last year alone, we funded 18 different projects to provide wastewater treatment for an additional 12,400
West Virginians."

That's great governor, but my question to you is this:  what about the actual water quality in mining towns?  Have you not heard about the water issues brought about by mountain top removal?  What about the people who are forced to drink it?  How about bringing safe water to the wells of people who are forced to drink coal pollution?  Allow me to refresh your memory:

"We embrace the knowledge and appreciate the support from many organizations and groups of people. One longstanding challenge we face is retaining and attracting young and talented people."

Again, kudos for your words.  I returned to WV after 15 years and I also have a masters degree.  What am I doing now?  Trying to help innocent lives that you have ruined with your support of non-unionized Massey energy and their detestable mountain top removal practices.  I am now playing a role in educating
Appalachia...in what YOU have made a mess of.  Thanks for the welcome back though..I appreciate it.  I think what you may be trying to say is "we want to retain and attract young and talented people, but not those smart enough to see through my smokescreen or smart enough to see what mountain top removal coal practices are really doing to our state.”

If you want to attract young and talented people, end the state’s dependence on coal.  Young and talented people do not want to live in polluted coalfield communities.  Do you know, Joe, that according to the US Census, people are migrating OUT of coal mining counties in our state, while non-mining counties have more people moving in?

"By harnessing the talent already inside our borders, we have a greater chance to bring back home those who yearn to live, work and play in our beautiful state."

Joe, you nimrod,...get with the program.  There will be no "beautiful state" if you allow Massey and other companies to continue mountain top removal.  Also - the young and talented leave because they don't want to be controlled by coal. We like to live in states that offer actual opportunity and not a state that is brainwashed into thinking that mountain top removal is good.  I mean, what do you want us to do?  It amazes me how stupid you are.  But then again, what should I expect from Blankenship's puppet/love doll.

"The number of students majoring in science, technology, engineering and math continues to rise. We have more faculty and we’re attracting world-class researchers to West Virginia."

Yeah, here we are.  And some of those researchers are being blasted (no pun intended) by Massey.  Also, YOU obviously don't respect (or understand) science and statistics or you would look at employment and mortality statistics in mining areas and see what is happening. Visit www.bigbadcoal.com if you don't believe me.  A "world class" researcher compiled this data.  So again, what I think you are trying to say is that "we want world class researchers who will propagate coal lies and continue our manipulation of the public...."

"Amazingly, the United States and Germany are the only western democracies in which parents are more likely to have earned a college degree than their children. And in West Virginia, for every 100 ninth graders in school today, statistics tell us only 16 will graduate from college."

Well..Joe..GEE!!!  What do you expect?  When the emphasis is on coal and nothing else...what do you think parents are going to teach their kids?  "hey boy..quit school and get into the mines..soon there will be no mining and then you will have no skills..but Guvnah joe said it was the thing to do"  If you’re lucky enough to even get a mining job, which is very unlikely.  Also..Joe...you debunk anything that is scientific about loss of environment, land, coal..etc.  Environment, landscape, scenery, mountains, and heritage are the very characteristics that WV prides themselves on in being  "Wild Wonderful West Virginia".  YOU are not a scientist. YOU do not know what you are talking about.  YOU allow families to be displaced by corrupt coal practices.  YOU allow private land to be taken by American Electric and Allegheny Power for unneeded transmission lines....(the list is endless)...so my question to you is...when our "children" see you behaving and making decisions in this matter...and their brainwashed parents actually listening (or pretending to listen because they don't want to lose their precious  Massey jobs)...do you really think they are going to go charging into academia?

"West Virginia ranks second in the nation in exporting electricity, and most of our coal and natural gas is sent out of state."

Are you proud of polluting the air with carbon emissions or something?  Other states have actually complained about our emissions...and yet you are in favor of TrAIL and PATH which will bring on 6-8 more coal fired plants.  What is so great about our natural resources being used to provide other people with cheap energy at the cost of our lives?  And don’t forget to mention, as all that coal and gas are leaving the state, so is the wealth from it.  Why does WV continue to be so poor and backward if we have all of this natural resource wealth?  Because all the major coal companies are headquartered out of the state and the profits leave the state to benefit others.  The people who live here under your "guidance and protection" are continually screwed.

"2009 was a tough year for coal. Despite the fact that half of our nation’s electricity is generated by coal, and that our national economy depends on this abundant, reliable and affordable energy, some want to villainize this resource that helped us win two world wars and built the greatest country in the world.  We must continue to stand up for our coal miners and their families! We are not asking for a handout. All we're asking for is the permission to work!"

First of all, no one is saying to "not work" you dumbass.  Coal..is NOT abundant. Production will enter permanent decline in WV in less than 20 years.  Some people do villanize this - because A.  It is not renewable.  B.  Sludge and ash and the polluted air/water cause sickness and death.

Also, let me point something else out to you, because you apparently lack the brains to be able to see things clearly.  In regards to your comment "we must continue to stand up for our coal miners and families."
FIRST:  Why do you ONLY advocate in favor of mountain top removal and coal..and the "miners and families"...why do you not state anything about the citizens living in the affected community?  Are you only worried about the miners and no one else? The miners and their families make up only a very small percentage of the people who live in coal communities, because there aren’t many mining jobs left anymore.  How about trying to find jobs for the tens of thousands who can’t work in the mines?  What about the ruined scenery and landscape, the destroyed mountains, the toxic water and soil?  What about the rest of us who live here? The fact that you would even make that statement proves how biased and incompetent you are.

SECOND: if you are so concerned about "hard working miners and families"...then WHY...WHY do you allow Massey to stay in WV?  Why not bring in the union so that the workers can have higher wages and more safe conditions?  (because you are blankenship's love doll..i've said it once and I'll say it again....YOU do not run this state...Blankenship and Massey do).

THIRD:  YOU could ban Massey and ban mountain top removal.  YOU could bring in the union.  YOU could insist that mining stays underground.  Mountain Top Removal relies mainly on mechanization, therefore it offers very few jobs.  Underground mining offers more jobs...so if that is the case?  Then WHAT is your F##@cking problem?  YOU could raise employment, save the scenery and give your "miners and families" safer work conditions and more money..but NOOoooooo.....instead you choose to passively be blankeship/massey's love doll.  I am sure there are some coal workers out there who would love to be union..but they are controlled by Massey as well.  The only think worse than a coward is a stupid coward, and YOU are a STUPID COWARD joe!  Other states laugh at our "blowing up mountains" mentality.  Get with the program.  We clearly need a Governor who is not ..well..to be candid..YOU.

"Last year, we also passed a post-mining land use bill that requires surface mine operators to have a plan for how the land they want to mine will be restored. Those plans include highways, industrial parks, schools, recreation facilities, farms and other renewable and alternative energy projects. This law is about creating more jobs."

No JOE.  Wrong again.  It creates job only when the restoration is in process, and not many at that.  And stop your lies – those plans more often than not consist of throwing non-native grass over bare rock and walking away  After that..all we are left with are destroyed mountains.  Do you know how many million/billions of years it takes to make a mountain?  You allow them to be decimated and then we are supposed to be ok with flattened mountains?  Once they are gone, they are gone forever.  Again..you are too stupid to see this.  YES..that is right ladies and gentlemen..I called the governor stupid...BECAUSE HE IS.

"Not only did the Scouts choose West Virginia for one of their high-adventure bases, they chose us as the centerpiece for the next 100 years of Scouting in America."

Joe Joe...(boy do you make me sick)...  Do you know WHY they chose WV?  They chose it because of the hardiness, outdoor activities, kayaking, hiking, clean air, an area rich in history etc.. (things that you are allowing to be destroyed by PATH, TrAIL, and Mountain Top Removal).  I'm pretty sure they didn't choose it to hike up a flattened mountain overlooking a prairie of ruined trees and ROW cleared for PATH and TrAIL or to boat on a polluted river or creek due to coal processing.  It is apparent that you cannot think for yourself..but can you at least read?

"Our Guard has nearly 800 men and women deployed throughout the world, with most of them in Iraq and Afghanistan. Would all of the members of the National Guard and all branches of our armed services – including all veterans – please stand up so we can thank you for the service you give to our country. We must continue to support our soldiers when they come home."

Hey, guess what Jackass Joe?  My dad is a veteran.  He did come home.  He has stayed in WV.  He has taken care of our family farm which has been in our family for over 200 years.  YOU are allowing PATH to destroy our farm.  So how is that for a great big thank you for our veterans.

TO SUM UP:
Under your guidance Governor Jackass Joe - we have lost jobs due to coal, we have lost mountains due to coal, mortality and sickness of risen due to coal, coal communities have a lower income and are forced to stay in poverty because of coal, and PATH and TrAIL will now destroy over 300 miles of WV landscape and yank land out of the hands of owners, not to mention bring on 6-8 coal fired plants which will further increase sickness and mortality. Our mountains are blown up so that coal companies don't have to  pay for human labor and then the profits are taken out of state or worse yet, out of the country.  All of this is because you fail to see the bigger picture.  You are old news and old school.

I am not saying to end coal.  I am saying to end mountain top removal and keep coal mining underground.  I am saying to bring in the union so that our underground miners have safer work conditions.  Underground mining relies less on mechanization than mountain top removal, therefore it may actually increase employment.

You have no business trying to get into the Senate.  You have done enough damage here.  You do not protect lives.  You endanger them.  You do not impart wisdom to help the economy, you hinder it.  You support an industry which literally threatens women, children or anyone who dares speak out against it.  People's pets have gotten killed.  Women must now carry guns around because of death threats because they speak out against coal? You condone an industry that encourages its employees to show up at protests, drunk and pushing people around?

Treason is the act of betrayal against ones sovereign.  West Virginia is your Sovereign. The poor economy, sickness and death that coal brings on, which you avidly support is an act of betrayal against the people within your sovereign.  In my opinion, you are an accomplice to murder and a liar. You should be charged with treason.  You should step down as Governor.  You should be banned from the Senate.

And I, as "local talent with a college degree" that you so adamantly want to "attract to the state"...well, i'm going to make sure everyone is informed about you and what it is that really controls this state.  Heads up.
